The extension to access the BNSF emulator(IE TAB) on Firefox has been updated. It behaves just like Internet Explorer. When you enter Lineup it pops up now so you dont have to type it all out anymore.
Go up to the taskbar at the top and click the extension button, check and see if any of your extensions need updating. Click the update button beside each one , and then restart Firefox.

If you dont have Firefox Click the links below.

Get Firefox here: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ You need to Download Firefox to use IE tab extension, so make sure you download Firefox first.

Get IE tab for Firefox here: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/

Follow this link: http://www2.bnsf.com:8200/index.html?lang=en_US

click on plx.access.bnsf.com icon.

the emulator should open up in a pop up window. Be sure you have http://www2.bnsf.com:8200 as a safe site for pop ups so it is not blocked.

There you go. no more LINEUP/CREW crap either, right to the emulator.

Enjoy!

by the way the above link will work with any browser as long as you have java sun installed.

You can also try this link which automatically opens up the emulator without visiting the site and clicking on a icon.

One more thing, make sure you enable java sun in the advanced tab section of tools in Internet Explorer.

I may be mistaken, but i do not think that you answered the question posted by Derek. I am in the same boat that he is in. I understand that Microsoft made Vista more secure by not allowing programs that are started over an internet connection to have access to the computers resources. Unfortunately because they have done this, the BNSF Emulator will not work on Vista.

I would like to know if there is any way around this problem, as i work for bnsf, and would like to be able to check the boards without having to call in on the phone. (i could use my old computer which has XP, but it is forever slow, and would prefer to use my new computer with Vista)

Thanks for looking into this again.

Matt
